You'll need the following:

To use ExGFX into a level from a SMW ROM, be sure you extracted and inserted the original GFX first, then insert the ExGFX file using the Insert ExGFX Command(click on the yellow mushroom).

Be sure that the ExGFX file is in the ExGraphics folder. When you've done that, click on Level (top left of the editor) and then on SuperGFX bypass. You should see a menu with the corresponding inserted GFX for a level (FG,BG,).

You can't insert the ExGFX file, unless you checked the box near a long description, something like: Enable custom inserted ExGFX for FG and BG.

Your ExGFX file should have a hex number 80-FFF.

For example: If you want the ExGFX file to have 95, then you should rename it: ExGFX95.bin (notice the "95" near the ExGFX)and insert it. Insert the ExGFX file: for sprites to SP1; SP2; SP3 or SP4; for FG: FG1; FG2; or FG3 and BG only for BG1.

You can also find a tutorial in the SMW Central site. Just go there and look to the right or the left (depends on which skin you use if you are a registered member) for a menu. On the menu, click on F.A.Q. and then click on Graphics. At the very bottom, you'll find a short tutorial on how to insert ExGFX.
