Real name: Unkown
From: North High, Old Building, "Literary" Clubroom
Known for: An unhealthy obsession with TMoHS

A member since 10/14/07, 10:36:21 A.M. (after the wipe), Farm Fresh is a self-proclaimed "Haruhiist, Classic DooM Aficionado, Homestar Runner authority and Amateur Hacker." He is highlighted mostly by the first of his descriptions, "Haruhiist" (the self-named fans of the series "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya," or TMoHS, with the collective fandom known as "Haruhiism"). This is extremely evident through his avatar and post layout. Farm Fresh is currently working on a hack entitled "Super Mario World: Revisited," his first, which is described by him in his SMW Central profile.

[edit] Mannerisms and Personality

  • Forum Posting
Farm Fresh can be considered an extremely mild perfectionist: about 85% of the time, he edits his post to add what is sometimes little more than a few words, or a small grammar fix. His spelling is impeccable, but he sometimes tends to misspeak, due to his habit of stopping to think in the middle of a sentence. This normally results in something very garbled, or causes the post to miss the point completely, although he tends to miss this and has to later rephrase. From one paragraph to the next, his topic can skip back and forth. He is also quite fond of "anime" style smilies (vertical smilies, such as the following: ^_^) despite his disdain for any anime other than The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Farm Fresh refrains from abbreviations and typically posts two or three paragraphs after quoting to differentiate between responding to the quote and other ideas; most paragraphs last only a line or two.

  • Vocabulary
On top of his unorthodox posts at times, Farm Fresh uses a variety of words not commonly used, such as "charming," "obscenely," and many others. (Although he will sometimes use clichéd words like uber.) His vocabulary can be described as nothing short of a Thesaurus. Due to his love of language, one of his quirks is infrequent usage of the words "megas" (pronounced may-gahss) and "nyoro," (pronounced neo-ro or yo-ro with an n prefixed) both of which are derived from the TMoHS character Tsuruya. Megas is used as an adjective such as "very" or "extremely" and is sometimes used before a word he describes, and sometimes used at the end of a sentence following a coma. Nyoro, inversely, always comes at the end of a sentence following a coma, and is an interjection to express passion about the particular subject.

  • Personality
Farm Fresh is, most importantly, very hard to truly offend, and loves to joke around. He normally gives people the benefit of the doubt, but this is sometimes blocked by preconceived notions. (Though he enjoys to be wrong about them most of the time.) He's very slow to anger, although it's not uncommon for him to become indignant. Farm Fresh is always willing to help out if he thinks he can, and he's at his happiest when he's making those around him happy. Despite this, he does not enjoy throwing softballs at people during things like reviews, but instead says it as it is, and won't take it easy on anything he finds wrong. (Which has landed him in hot water more than a few times in different places.) In addition to this, he can become confrontational during any heated discussion, leading him to pull no punches. Despite all this his greatest goal is to make someone smile. At the end of the day, Farm Fresh would be honored to be labeled "Jester."

[edit] Hacks

  • Super Mario World: Revisited - (in-progress)
Plans for SMW:R are to feature original level designs, message blocks, and so forth, while still feeling very much like the original with a dash of humor added in, as well as a few gimmicks, but you'll just have to wait and see what they are. It's sort of like what would happen if Nintendo hired totally different level programmers (and ones less forgiving, at that). Look forward to it sometime in '08! The hack has since been decidedly expanded, and plans are to add new blocks, some graphics, a custom overworld, custom music, and a few small changes, but fell mostly like what SMW would have been had the developers decided to take a bit more of an old-school approach (in a good way). Plans are to release a demo, perhaps 2 to three worlds, which may or may not feature the custom overworld.
